REST

The Stoughton Wellness Coalition contracts with Journey Mental Health to provide REST (Resilient response to the Effects of Stress and Trauma) at River Bluff Middle School.

The REST model includes screening for depression, risk for substance misuse and trauma symptoms using standardized measures. From this screening of past trauma and current post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms, some students are assigned to a 10-week Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT) group. Students screening a higher level of risk will be offered individual therapy services during the school day. For more information, https://journeymhcrest.org/

DBT Description:
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy tries to identify and change negative thinking patterns and pushes for positive behavioral changes. DBT may be used to treat suicidal and other self-destructive behaviors.
